FERDINAND FOCH
Commander in Chief of the Allied Armies. He was born on
October 2, 1851, at Pyrenees, France. He was a Lieutenant in
the Franco-Prussian War at the age of 19, and at the age of 26
he was a Captain of Artillery. He won great distinction
throughout the world as an instructor in military tactics and
strategy. He startled the world by his generalship in the
battle of the Marne in 1914. He was in supreme command of the
Allied Armies.
